A classic day at the Carn Classic!

A top day’s racing at the Carn Classic event in Maghera saw two Dunloy based riders take places in the top 4 of the A race. Jonathan Dooey took second place behind Curtis Gilmore of Team Madigan with Chris McKeown taking 4th.

Damian McCamphill and Ciaran McKeown took part in the B race with a crash in the bunch putting paid to any chance of points.

Mabel Higgins represented Dunloy in the Ultra Competitive Ladies race and sadly was edged out of the places.

Vincent Drain, Finbarr Dooey and Dessie Dillon completed the Dunloy lineup in the Masters section but today was not to be their day.

Brilliant racing everyone, this really is a testament to the training put in over the last few months. You all deserve every success!

RVCC Danny Boy Road Races

Well done to all who competed in the Danny Boy Road Race event promoted today by Roe Valley CC. Dessie Dillon finished 6th in a very keenly contested M50 Masters event with Vincent Drain and Finbarr Dooey also finishing. Adrian McGregor represented DCC in the A4 category and finished in the bunch. Well done to all of you, great to see you getting home safe and we hope you had a great day.

Please find attached the official placings and an event report by Marian Lamb of Ulster Cycling News.

Vincent & Dessie take podium places in Omagh!

Both Vincent Drain and Dessie Dillon’s superb early season form continues as they took 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Masters race at the McCann cup event hosted by Omagh Wheelers today. They overcome a strong field and a crash in the bunch sprint to take well deserved podium places. Finbarr Dooey rode a great race only to have his back wheel damaged by a crashing rider at the finish, he still managed a credible 7th while freewheeling over the line. Mabel Higgins represented the club in the ladies race and although it wasn’t her day today she nonetheless aquitted herself superbly. Well done to all, a fitting end to a fabulous weekend of racing for Dunloy CC.
